Studying, putting my portfolio together, anime project planning, job hunting... You get the gist. I haven't had the luxury to update anything in my DA page for a while, and I would have, if I've planned my time properly.

Other than all that, life in Japan has basically been peaceful. People here have moved on and are now going about with their lives. My family believes that it's pretty much safe for me to stay a little longer now, which is good.

So what's up? I've been having a dilemma of whether or not I should work as an animator. Shortly after I started my second year in college, a teacher who currently works at Sunrise and does teaching part-time told us the harsh realities of starting out as an animator, and to be honest, I got really depressed at one point.

But since I've gotten this far, a little work experience shouldn't hurt. I've sent my application and portfolio to A-1 Pictures but haven't got a reply from them yet (and they haven't returned my portfolio. So I have to go through the trouble of making another one). Others who have already applied for A-1 have gotten letters from the company saying that they failed the elimination stage a few days after the application deadline. I've waited for almost a month so I still might have a chance with them (No news is good news). Production IG is my next target, and then BONES and Madhouse (once they start recruiting). They made animation series' that I basically grew up with, so I guess sacrificing my leisure time and social life to work with them for a few years doesn't sound too bad.

I'm gonna fix it up a little, insert english subtitles and submit it here in DA during the summer break.

And what have I got next? I'm directing another anime short again! It's for our graduation project. I just finished drawing the storyboard last week and we're gonna go through hell once again
